L’architettura del mondo. Infrastrutture, mobilità, nuovi paesaggi
The exhibition investigates the works that shape the form of the world, and the ways it functions, and offers a representation of the world itself. Similarly, the Farnese Atlas, a Hellenistic sculpture from the 2nd century selected for the visual identity of the exhibition, shows two simultaneous faces: Atlas, physically supporting the Earth globe; and the constellations on the globe, seeds of the modern concept of the network.
To emphasise this role of foundation, framed by an anamorphic typographical installation, the eponymous hero welcomes visitors in the large setting at the entrance to the exhibition.

La mostra indaga le opere che danno forma al mondo e nel contempo ne strutturano le modalità di funzionamento, offrendo, in ultima analisi, una rappresentazione del mondo stesso. Analogamente l’Atlante Farnese, scultura ellenistica del II secolo scelta nel progetto di identità visiva a rappresentare la mostra, presenta simultaneamente due aspetti: da una parte Atlante che fisicamente sostiene il globo terrestre; dall’altra le costellazioni riportate sul globo, germi del moderno concetto di rete.
A sottolinearne così il ruolo fondativo, incorniciato da un’installazione tipografica anamorfica l’eroe eponimo accoglie i visitatori nella grande ambientazione all’ingresso della mostra.
